Eleven Spring: A Celebration of Street Art

Eleven Spring captures one of the defining moments in modern street art history. In December 2006, nearly 100 artists from around the world took over the legendary 11 Spring Street building in downtown New York for Wooster on Spring, a three-day exhibition curated by Marc and Sara Schiller of the Wooster Collective. Shepard Fairey, Swoon, JR, Doze Green, Prune, and dozens more transformed the building from floor to ceiling using spray paint, wheat paste, markers, found objects, installations, and more. Thousands lined up to see the show before the building was renovated and the work disappeared forever. This 272-page anniversary edition preserves that fleeting moment, with an introduction by Shepard Fairey, an afterword by JR, and an essay by The New York Times’ Randy Kennedy—a must-have document of a landmark event that helped push street art into the global spotlight.
