American artist ELLE, originally from Napa Valley, California, began as an illegal graffiti artist in the streets of New York and has become one of the top touring street artists in the world. She studied at UC Davis and completed a post-graduate painting program at Brandeis University before adopting the name ELLE, French for "she," to address the lack of women in street art. Her bold work features iconic posters of panic-stricken eyes and psychedelic, wolf-headed females, created using fire extinguishers, rollers, aerosol, markers, acrylic, and silkscreens. She has scaled billboards along the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway, installed work at the Urban Nation Museum in Berlin, and projected a 200-foot piece onto the New Museum facade. In 2024, she established her own neon studio, and Norwegian Cruise Line commissioned her to design the hull art for their 1,056-foot vessel LUNA.
